Back. In the last two months I have been to 2 countries, 6 cities, started 2 new projects, taken over a thousand pictures, updated my website numerous times, read three books and written over 20 pages of material concerning things that I couldn't even begin to get into here and now (...the praxiological nature of art and its ever-swaying place in society). I wanted to fill you in on the things that matter to me right now and, perhaps, should matter to you as well. I've broken ground on a new project entitled, We Know It's There. It will be a multi-media campaign overviewing the absurdity and procedures that have been taken concerning Maryland's highly controversial capital punishment laws. I will be developing a website to inform and activate people against the cruel and unusual monster that is American capital punishment. Links: MDCASE , Death Penalty Info Center .

What a nice weekend, finally the weather gods have shown there light on humble little Baltimore. Let's hope they keep it up. If anyone is looking for new music you definitely need to download the new Animal Collective album called Merriweather Post Pavilion (thank you Baltimore), believe me you won't be disappointed. This is just a letraset composition I had lying around.

Answer: This amazing book. I found it today, on sale center at the MICA Decker library. I'm really excited about it, tons of really nice images from the two cities between 1900 and 1933. Only one thing, it's in French. Buy hey, gives me an excuse to try to learn bits of the language. Be jealous.

I know, I know, it's has been quite a while since I last posted. But to be honest, I don't really feel like I've had much to blog about, for once. I had a fantastic time visiting friends in Europe and if you want to look at pictures from that just check them out on facebook, if you don't have a facebook account just send me an email and I can send you a zip file with all of them. I've been spending a lot of my time recently working at the mobile advertising firm Millennial Media, working on all sorts of new campaigns and exciting stuff. Depending on the outcome of all of that I may post some of the recent happenings on here. The picture below was taken by Christopher Simpson. He's got a new website up, you should really check it out, great work. On the wall in the image you can see a poster by a good friend William Davis, who recently sent me a care package via England, thanks a lot the stuff looks great. Besides that things have been pretty quiet around here, they'll start up again soon though, I'm sure. Check back for new work and other musings.

So, it's back to basics. This week I did a woodcut, something I haven't done since the 4th grade. Its a portrait of one of my roommates, it's supposed to be reminiscent of the turn of the century German graphic style.

So AIGA Baltimore has coordinated a design lecture to come to MICA on October 27th. The lecturer is Brian Collins, he's a big deal in the branding scene and a will give a good lecture that I plan to attend. Here's the poster I designed for the lecture:

It's been a little while since the last update but I have a few new things to show for my absence. First of all, my new website, www.csaustodesign.com , went live this week. Its just the portfolio business but all tucked into one nice, neat and colorful package. Also, I have new piece of work that I'm posting. It's an alley cat race poster, let me know what you think. I was working with baltimore-based design Julie Diewald and we did a bunch of branding and promo materials to go along with it, but those will most likely end up on the website eventually.

Here are some more photos of the additional elements connected with this project, there's a print brochure, swatch cards/carrier and paint packaging included in these images.

So I started a new internship this week at R2integrated, and every Wednesday is Tie Wednesday obviously meaning that all males (and some females) wear ties to work. I was told "It's the only way we can feel a little grown up around here." Here's a typography poster I designed to promote Tie Wednesday.

I just got back from a weekend in Prague. The city was wonderful and I took a whole bunch of photos, some of which I'll be putting here in a few days. Right now I want to post a stop motion project I just finished. This is my first time actually doing a stop motion piece, although I've thought about it before. I really enjoyed it and I plan on doing another one soon.

As I promised here are some pictures I took during my time in Italia. I was very interested in document the street art and may think of compiling some of these photos into some sort of ode to European street art publication. We'll see. There are also some pictures I snook in at museums and such.
